Hi , and thanks for visiting The Good Stuff. The Good Stuff is Leeds’s longest-running Beer Blog, and exists solely to let you, the reader, know a little more about what is – and where to find – Good Beer. You can also get recipes for Good Food to eat with that great beer, and give the Good People who brew and sell fantastic beers independently a place to speak.

I’m Leigh Linley; born and bred in Leeds, and I’ve writing about beer and food since 2007. I’m also the author of Great Yorkshire Beer  – jump over to the Great Yorkshire Beer page to read more about that. Great Yorkshire Beer won Silver in the Adnams Award for Regional Media in the 2013 British Guild of Beer Writers Awards.

I also contributed to Future Publishing’s Craft Beer: 100 Best Breweries in the World.

    I was very inpressed, your comments regarding our beers were warming and very much welcome, you descriptions and tasting notes were outstanding and we could not have wished for anyone better than you to have purchased these ales, I wonder could we come back to you, for you to try our new ale Rascal, a play on the baked Yorkshire Fat Rascal only in an ale form using English hops and finished with cracking fruity American corker, we would love you to give it a go,

    The inaugural North Leeds Charity Beer Festival takes place – 27/28 April 2012 at St Aidan’s Community Hall Roundhay Road, Leeds LS8 5QD. The aim of the festival is to provide interesting and unusual beers from Yorkshire’s micro and independent breweries for people to enjoy, to stimulate debate and to help raise money and awareness for two fantastic charities.

    The North Leeds Charity Beer Festival is a joint venture between the Rotary Club of Roundhay and the Lord Mayor of Leeds.

    Just seen your article in CAMRA’s Beer magazine. Somewhat disappointed with the article – not least because you seem to have ignored those football clubs where it isn’t the stadium operator which provides the beers. Next time you’re in London try Leyton Orient Supporters Club – 9 times CAMRA’s East London Club of the Year, national finalist 3 times and winner of National Club of the Year once, Club Mirror awards etc etc. Two festivals a year – special feature beer nights – countless compliments – and all achieved by volunteers. Next time you’re in London try a supporter-managed and run club rather than just following the corporate trail. Good blog though ……

      Firstly, thanks for dropping by and reading the article. Re: Orient – I actually approached the club via email on the 19th and 30th of august (when the article was being prepped) – using the chairman@orientsupporters.org email address provided on the website, and recieved no reply despite chasing. Unfortunately, when deadlines are looming, there comes a point at which you have to go with what you have.
      I did, however, mention the club/supporters club and the good work they have done on Page 13 of the article.
