>LB Buy The Garden Gate

*We’ve known it was on the cards for a while, but after months of talk, Leeds Brewery have finally bought The Garden Gate in Hunslet – a match made in heaven. Let’s hope they can get some customers back in the place. More to follow. Huzzah!

Blog: https://goodfoodgoodbeer.wordpress.com/ I'm Leigh Linley; born and bred in Leeds, and writing about it since 2005. TGS exists solely to highlight the great beers that are out there; brewed with passion by Craft Brewers around the World. I also edit the 'Tavern Tales' section of Culture Vulture, which looks at Pubs and Pub Life rather than the beer in the glass.

  1. >Hadn't seen anything about these guys before, but a quick look at their website makes me drool!

  2. >Whoah! Big news, I'm delighted they went through with it.

  3. >Velky – Yeah, they've been around a few years and are near-on ubiquitous in Leeds now. Solid, well-balanced beers. If you get a chance, give them a try. Zak – I know, what a reprieve, eh?

  4. >Don't know the pub in question (obviously…) but I've seen a couple of pretty desolate pubs in London totally turned round when they started flogging decent beer. It doesn't seem to be rocket science to me…

  5. >Bailey – needless to say, I totally agree. Put it on the bar and they will come, so to speak. We'll be keeping an eye on this development, anyway.
